Damage Cover
Security deposits
When you set a security deposit on your listing, it's collected from the guest as part of checkout and held separately from your payout. If the stay completes with no reported issues, the deposit is released back to the guest automatically.
Reporting damage
If you find damage to your property after a guest checks out, report it as soon as possible with supporting evidence (photos, receipts, or repair estimates) through your booking's messaging thread. Claims are reviewed against the held security deposit for that booking.
What's covered
Security deposits are intended to cover accidental damage to your property or its contents during a stay. They do not cover normal wear and tear, and coverage is limited to the deposit amount you set on the listing.
Setting the right deposit amount
You can set your security deposit amount when creating or editing a listing. Consider the value of your property's contents when choosing an amount that's fair to both you and your guests.
